Quantum Leben featured in the Financieele Dagblad: “Delegated authority in income protection is essential” 📰

Article
Many insurers are merging and simplifying their portfolios. We deliberately choose the opposite direction: staying pragmatic and flexible, and working intensively with a limited group of specialised MGA partners.

In the interview, Arjen Van Dun and Fiolijn van Dijk explain how this works:

🔹 Delegated authority as director and extension: partners handle underwriting, case management, claims and collections on our behalf. We work together on how service delivery can be optimised; ultimate responsibility remains with us.

🔹 Actuarial support for partners: MGAs have direct access to our actuaries.

🔹 Prevention in the product: Prevention is key, which is why we co-fund preventive interventions. We need to prevent long-term absenteeism as much as possible, and in doing so we limit inflow.

On regulation, Arjen says: “Regulation is often used as an excuse for why things can’t be done. We have turned that around.”

This is only part of the story. Read the full interview in the supplement of the FD of Friday 16 October: about compliance as a competence, our Quantum Leben Academy and where we want to be in five years’ time.
